Perfect Playdough Recipe

(cooking dough with tartar)

smooth texture

I wasn't supposed to make a playdough today but the kids been asking me to buy them the real deal at the mall. With all my failure dough from the past, I wasn't confident if i should make again. Usually all the dough that i make doesn't last that long. Or the next day it would be a slime, probably I place to much water. But finally I manage to find the correct recipe.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 cup water (cold or room temperature)
  • 2 tsp cream of Tartar
  • 1/3 cup salt
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • food coloring

Instructions:
  1.  Mix all the Dry Ingredients (flour, cream of tartar, and flour). Sifting it on a bowl.
  2.  In a pan put all the Wet Ingredients together. (water, oil and oil).
  3. Put the Sifted Dry Ingredients in the pan. mix everything until all becomes smooth. NOTE: don't turn on the stove yet until everything is mix)
The dough texture would look like a creamy.
  4. Turn on the stove and start cooking the dough. Wait until everything become thick, you would notice that its harder to mix the dough at this moment.
This happened when I turn on the stove while mixing all the ingridience.
On this photo, you would notice the diffence between the smooth play dough. Remember to mix everything before turning the stove.

5. If you notice that its starting to become a dough (moist), close the fire and set it aside.
This would be how the dough look like when it’s ready.
Make sure not to burn the dough.
    6. wait for it to cool down then start kneading the dough.
   7. Keep it on a air thight container.
